Abstract Rhythm & Blue Notes at Sohn Fine Art

A celebration of photographic expressionism

Abstract Rhythm & Blue Notes at Sohn Fine Art in Lenox, MA was the first exhibition by this collaboration of international artists. Held in September 2022, it was a part of Sohn Fine Art’s Master Artist Series, which hosts wold class photographers annually in the Berkshires.

This show highlighted works by six of the US-based artists who participated in the year-long intensive program led by Valda Bailey and Doug Chinnery in 2022. The exhibition highlighed images that alter the perception of reality and were inspired by the world of jazz, specifically blue notes, the expressive technique using minor intervals where major intervals are expected.
